Golden Birthday, Golden Boy

Birthday Boy Cayleb turned 5 on the 5th, having been born on the 6th month, on the 5th day, in the 4th year (2004).

Five years ago, we all had our fingers crossed Cayden would have a brother,

Madalyn wasn't too sure she wanted the boy baby with dark hair once he came out,

Nikki who had just started dating Chris was hoping he would be in town long enough to hold a new baby and change a diaper since he had NEVER done those things before, well he has practice now,

everyone else rushed to the hospital,

most of you were in the room to see him born,

the rest just outside the door,

we didn't have time to even take the kids over to a neighbors,

all thoughts of going natural fled me during a stress test the day before the estimated his weight to be about 9 lbs. (he was 8 lbs. 14 oz.),

Mom and Randy helped hold my feet while I pushed what I thought would probably be my last baby,

and now 5 years later he is all grown up and fighting inter-galatic wars in some serious hyper-speed mode!

Looking like he took over control of the Imperial Senate in his birthday crown, Cayleb was sooooooo excited to have his gift that has been tempting him from the top of the fridge for almost a month now.

The birthday boy also decided to have big brother stay home from school and transform into Lego Master (Chris may opt to have title restored by correctly defining the difference between the Republic Gun Ship and the Republican party), it only took the majority of the day, but by the time Cayleb came home from pre-school his ship was put together, thanks big brother!

Brotherly love! The boys were messing around at the park and looking extra sharp in the wardrobe selection by Grandpa and Grandma Brusik, thank you! I took this yesterday evening, since the Birthday Boy decided after his special dinner and before more ice cream he would like to go to a little local park. Unfortunately, a few minutes after this picture, we were all rolling down the hill, Cayleb stood up, dizzy, and fell over on the sidewalk, giving him a big ole' birthday bump on his forehead. Fitting since he started out as a bump in the belly, and while giving him his gift we sang, "heavy, heavy hang over thy poor head, what do you wish this person with a bump on the head?" See, birthday wishes really do come true and having a healthy, happy Cayleb is definitely one of my birthday wishes, always. Happy Birthday Cayleb!!!

Caleb, I'm so glad you had a wonderful day. I wish we could have been there to celebrate. Conner is lucky to have you as his cousin. Can't wait to see you in a few months!

P.S. Chris is bummed he wasn't there to help with the legos.
